I began my quest of building a sneaker collection in 2019 and focused on the basic classics. I’m now feeling confident to venture into the larger $100-$200 segment that brings me into the orbit of Air Jordan’s, Air Max and quite a few famous Nike’s.
Current Collection:
- White - Adidas - Stan Smith // Size 9.5
- White - Converse - All Star // Size 9.5
- White - Nike - Air Force 1 // Size 9
- Black - Nike - Miler React // Size 10
The AF 1’s are my special pair. Nike Miler’s and Stan Smith’s are my daily drivers. Stan Smith and All Star’s for casual outfits. Miler’s also double duty for trainers.
Very versatile set with 4 pairs.
Retired Shoes:
- Adidas - Superstar
- Puma - Suede
- Red - Onitsuka - Serrano // Size 9.5
Future Acquisitions:
- Nike - Air Jordan 1
- Nike - Air Max 90
- Nike - Air Force 1 (New colorway)
- Adidas - Superstar (New replacement)
I’m still debating what to get and in what colorways, but focusing on and therefore researching Air Jordan’s and Air Max’s. These would become my new special pair to mix up with the AF 1’s.
The Air Max would join the casual pairs as I’m digging the chunky look as well as sometimes you need a pair of black casual shoes.
At same time, I'm loving my AF1 so I don't mind finding more in different colorways.
I’m also wanting another pair of beater shoes and loved my Adidas Superstars. Maybe a wild colorway to experiment a bit.
I also want to limit my collection to no more than 7-10 sneakers at a time…not including my dress shoes.
Note: I found a pair of Nike Air Max Excee for $75 when I was evaluating the Nike Miler React. I went with the React as while the Excee’s looked better…the React felt better on foot.
Update - 9/5/2022 - Hindsight the Air Max would have been better
In hindsight, the Air Max would have been a better choice. The Miler's are not as comfortable as I had hoped for long distance travel and I found better foot support in simple Adidas Superstars than the Miler's with its React Foam.
