Retro Gaming - Anbernic RG351p Portable Handled

Retro Gaming has come a long way since the early PC emulators.  I was curious at how well a portable handheld could handle emulation and am impressed with the Anbernic RG351p.  Based on online reviews the RG351p is probably the best handheld for those serious about portable retro gaming and only want to own 1 device. I'll have to agree with those reviews and was able to start gaming within 10 seconds of owning the device.  This by itself is impressive. The RG351p is by no means 'perfect', but there are no perfect portable handhelds and its competitors using the same chipset may have features and capabilities that out class the RG351p, but have their own share of drawbacks. The target audience for the RG351p are casual gamers who plan to spend 15-30 minutes in a gaming session.  It can run for much longer multi-hour sessions, but really this is for casual gamers. When shopping around for a portable, I evaluated the following devices: Retroid Pocket 2 RGB 10 RG351p RG351m RG3

Playstation PS4 Controller - pairing connect without a USB cable

Oh man!  It took me over a week and I purchased 3 controllers before I finally figured out what is the problem.  So the problem is not really the controllers (especially if they are brand new), the problem is usually the USB cable. Online there are several ways to attempt to resolve and troubleshoot this crazy problem.  So I'll run through those first before I explain how to set it up without a USB cable. This will work with almost any PS4 controller both the original and 'pro' version; those have a light bar on the top edge of the touch pad. Easiest - connect to a USB cable and click the PS Home Button while the PS4 is turned off.  If the PS4 turns on, then cheer, yeah! Reset Controller - find the small hole on the bottom of the controller near the L2 button.  Press it with a paper clip to reset the controller.  Then try Method 1. Power Off PS4 - turn off the PS4 (press and hold the power button until it beeps a second time).  Unplug the power cord and wait 1-2 minutes t

Caravan Stories - Basic Walkthrough

I've been stuck at home for past few weeks and got back into online gaming and started playing Caravan Stories first on the PS4 and then switched to the Japanese version for the PC. I prefer the PC version as I can use the keyboard and mouse, but had to translate the menus and commands by comparing it with the PS4 version.  For all intents and purposes, the two versions are the same; with exception being the Japanese PC version gives you better bonuses and stuff (like Sophia with 5 star gear vs. PS4 only offering 4 star). Basic Walkthrough/Guide Whichever version you pick, the game play is roughly the same and you have five (5) basic goals: Finish the four (4) starter races.  Finish the stories and reincarnate for the four (4) starter races: Human, Elf, Dwarf and Orc.  After your first reincarnation, this opens up a lot more options and places to visit in the game. Human Story first.  Start with the Human story first as you get the powerful S-Class Sophia and she will be ab

Onigiri - Sekigahara (Level 60-70)

I'm now in Sekigahara, working on leveling up to 70.  When I get bored I travel back to Kyoto for an easy dungeon run and to level up my sword skills.  Still using my Tatsujin and Ranmagiri.  Looking for a third sword to add and the Hakujin and Helm-Splitter look promising. Stuck in Sekigahara Dang it, I need to level up friendship ratings with Shizuka.  Otherwise, I can't continue.  I kinda want to go to Kaga already.  From what I'm reading online,Shizuka needs to be at least level 10 friendship by Sekigahara and Susanoo level 15 before end game.  Good to know.

Onigiri- Basic Strategy

Still testing and researching online and developed a basic strategy for Onigiri. 1.   Focus on good skills.   Quality skills on weapons are better than a purely high grade or damage rating. 2.   Spam skills.  You want to be able to one hit kill enemies.  SP recovery potions are cheap, fraction of the cost of HP recovery sushi items.  Use lots of SP potions and spam away on the skills to finish dungeons faster. 3.   White class weapons.   Go for Bronze item drops and seek white class items.  These are cheaper to enhance and smelt vs blue, red or gold items.  A +50 white sword with good skills is better than a gold weapon of the same ryou cost. 4.   Max Affinity.   Put stat points in a single star that boosts your main weapons affinity.  Goal is 3,000 affinity.   At lower levels you can use +% affinity items like magatama's to get 3,000.  But later you want to switch to +% Skill Force magatama's so plan ahead and boost your stat points. 5.   Magatama's-  S

Onigiri - Nyankoropon - Unit 1 Prize - Black Goth Rozen

Sweet, on my third Gacha Ticket I got the top prize on  Nyankoropon Unit # 1, the Black Goth Rozen Costume with Accessory 'Property Hadou' that grants +15% Money gain for 30 days. I was hoping for the HP or SP boost costume set, but this is great too.  Makes gaining money for smelting and weapon enhancement easier.

Onigiri - Odachi/Katana Character

I've tried several character types and for now settled on the Odachi/Katana Sword with Power Stat focus.  Learning as I go along and experimenting with this build.  Was able to make it to the Izumo Rest Area after about a week of casual playing. Odachi for Group fights The Odachi is the long sword and while slower than a Katana has more attack power and a wider attack range.  It's good for medium size mobs. Katana for surgical fights The Katana is proving better for fast boss strikes or single enemy duels.  You can unload several skills in rapid succession with the shorter and faster Katana. Goal is Affinity = more damage to enemies I'm focusing all my stat points towards Power.  This raises sword and Odachi affinity which boosts attack rating.  The max is 3,000 (including any +% affinity items like magatama's). Weapons Using the basic gold weapons I've found along the way.  Nothing fancy and most are just +10 to +50 enhancement.
