Reflections on a Decade of Blogging: Embracing Habits, Change, and Minimalism

A Journey of Self-Discovery Through Blogging

Since I started this blog in 2014, I’ve witnessed an evolution in my own thinking, goals, and self-understanding. This space has become a platform to look back, appreciate past lessons, and set a more intentional path forward. Reflecting on my experiences here has been instrumental in shaping the direction of my future, helping me find what truly matters.

Accepting My Nature as a Creature of Habit

One of the biggest surprises, though it shouldn’t be anymore, is how much I am drawn to certain routines. Like many people, I’m a creature of habit. Initially, I resisted this tendency, feeling that constantly pursuing novelty might bring greater rewards. Over time, however, I realized that embracing these patterns brings a sense of comfort and satisfaction. Rather than resist, I’ve learned to lean into those habits that enrich my life.

Balancing Familiarity with New Experiences

Through the years, I noticed that my hesitations often led to missed opportunities. While some choices I questioned turned out to be wise, there were many instances where I wished I’d taken more risks. This taught me that the path forward involves a balance—finding routines I love and sticking to them, but also allowing room for experimentation and change. Testing new ideas keeps life vibrant and gives me a broader perspective.

Learning from Mistakes Without Losing Courage

Reflecting on past errors has taught me valuable lessons, helping me avoid similar missteps in the future. However, there’s a fine line between learning from past mistakes and letting them hold me back. I now aim to take “moderated” chances, acknowledging that life is full of lessons—even if they come with a few missteps. I’ve found it helpful to budget a certain amount of time, energy, or resources to what I think of as “life education.”

Finding Contentment Beyond Luxury

One of the biggest revelations in recent years is that I no longer feel the need to pursue ever-fancier possessions. Instead, I focus on quality and utility over luxury. I’m perfectly happy with my trusty Casio watch and my dependable Toyota Camry; these items serve me well without unnecessary extravagance. This shift reflects a more minimalist approach, focusing on what truly adds value to my life rather than simply keeping up with trends.

The Joy of Simple Moments with Loved Ones

Above all, time with friends and family has become one of the most rewarding aspects of my life. I’m finding a new level of fulfillment by embracing certain principles of minimalism, allowing me to savor these moments without distraction. As I come full circle, I see the beauty in living simply in a materialistic world—a choice that brings deeper satisfaction and connection.

This blog has been a journey through change, discovery, and acceptance. The lessons I’ve gained will guide my next steps as I seek a life rich in experience, grounded in simplicity, and open to growth.

Sony MDR-ZX100 vs ZX-110 vs ZX310 Series Headphones

Sony ZX Series Headphones Review: A Budget-Friendly Sound Choice If you’re on the hunt for budget-friendly headphones with decent quality, the Sony ZX Series is definitely worth considering. I happen to own several models from the lineup: ZX-100 ZX-110 ZX-310 Let’s dive into how they compare in terms of build quality, cost, specs, sound, and overall value. Build Quality: ZX-310 Takes the Lead The Sony ZX series headphones primarily feature a durable plastic construction. My ZX-100 has lasted over 2½ years, enduring countless tosses into my backpack and car without any issues. However, the lower-end ZX-100 and ZX-110 models have a significant downside: poor-quality earpads. Over time, these earpads disintegrate, leaving vinyl flakes that stick to your hair and ears. The ZX-310, on the other hand, comes with upgraded earpads that don’t suffer from this problem, making them a clear winner in the build department. Cost Comparison: ZX-100/110 Wins for Affordability While the ZX-310 model co...

Casio G-Shock 5600 vs 6900 vs 9000

G-Shock Preferences and Favorites After trying out several G-Shock models, I've developed a better sense of the specific features and design elements I appreciate most. While features are always a plus, my main priority is size . Here's how some of the models I've tried stack up. Size Preference: DW-5600 Series For overall size, the DW-5600 series stands out as a favorite due to its compact, comfortable form. It’s slim, lightweight, and fits well on my wrist without being too bulky. Although the 6900 series provides the benefit of a well-placed front illumination button, the 5600 remains the ideal size for everyday wear. Best Compromise: G9000 Mudman Series If I had to choose a balanced option between size, comfort, and functionality, the G9000 Mudman series would be it. The buttons are slightly tough to press, but the layout and form factor resonate with what I prefer in a G-Shock. Despite having different module versions (GLX, G, and DW), I find that these models offe...
