Upgrading to the iPhone 11: A Comprehensive Review
I recently made the jump from my iPhone 6s to the iPhone 11, and I couldn't be happier with the upgrade. I got a special deal and switched over to T-Mobile, which has significantly improved my signal, especially in areas where Verizon struggled, like Las Vegas and parts of my hometown. Here’s a detailed look at my experience with the new device.

Size and Weight
Transitioning from the 4.7-inch display of the 6s to the 6.1-inch screen of the 11 is like night and day. The heft of the iPhone 11 at 7 oz compared to the 5 oz of the 6s makes it feel quite substantial, almost like holding a half-pound rock. While it’s bulkier, the larger screen is fantastic for media consumption.
Transfer Process
Apple deserves credit for making the transfer process nearly seamless. I only had to re-enter login credentials for a few apps, which was manageable. The trickiest part was moving accounts that used Google Authenticator for multi-factor authentication, but I expected that complexity.
Battery Life
The iPhone 11 wins hands down in this category. The combination of the A13 processor and the significantly larger battery means I can go through an entire day of normal use (13-16 hours) and still have 55-60% battery left. In contrast, the 6s would require a charger by the 8-hour mark, often struggling to maintain power after a battery replacement earlier this year.
Display Quality
While the iPhone 11's 6.1-inch screen is bigger, it retains the same resolution as the 6s. Coming from a Samsung Note 4, I notice that Apple’s LCD can’t quite compete with Samsung’s vibrant AMOLED displays. However, the size improvement is still a welcome upgrade for everyday tasks.
Performance
With the 64 GB storage on the iPhone 11 compared to the 32 GB on the 6s, I'm now free from storage issues. Although I don’t game much, the A13 chip feels noticeably snappier compared to the older A9. I experienced some lag with the 6s, especially in Safari, which is a thing of the past now.
Camera Quality
By far, the standout feature of the iPhone 11 is its camera. The dual-camera setup far outshines anything the 6s could achieve. I can only imagine how impressive the camera on the 11 Pro or 12 Pro is. The improvements in photography are not just noticeable; they’re transformative.
Conclusion
Overall, the iPhone 11 is worth every penny. It feels like Apple hit the sweet spot with this model, just as they did with the 6s four years ago. The 6s was a reliable device with its headphone jack and solid design, while the 11 excels in speed and features.
Having spent about four years with my 6s and only needing to replace the battery once, I hope to enjoy similar longevity with the iPhone 11. Perhaps in four years, I’ll be eyeing the iPhone 15 as my next upgrade.
